AAF-METRO PHOENIX ANNOUNCES
ADDY® AWARD WINNERS AND 2008 AD PERS


AAF Metro-Phoenix, the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation, revealed ADDY competition award winners on Saturday, March 1, during the 23rd Annual ADDY Awards Gala at the Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center.

The ADDYs recognize advertising from media of all types, creative in all sizes and entrants from all levels in metro Phoenix. “The annual awards show is a celebration that acknowledges the outstanding creative work being produced in the Valley,” said Pamela Loughman, 2008 ADDY chairperson. “The winners are truly the best of the best.”

Best of Show was awarded to Cramer-Krasselt for the Sienna Crush television spot produced by the firm for Valley Toyota Dealers. Cramer-Krasselt’s Buddy Higgs also won Copywriter of the Year for the television commercial. The Special Judges Award went to TunnelBravo, which designed the OZ/Frog Prince/Snow Queen poster campaign for the East Valley Children’s Theatre. TunnelBravo art directors Stewart West and John Johnson shared the spotlight with a win for Art Directors of the Year. John Zello from Cramer-Krasselt also was awarded Art Director of the Year for his design work for the 2007 Horror Classic Logo.

In all, the judges awarded 68 Gold, 75 Silver and 69 Bronze awards to Valley firms. Chris McMurry, CEO of McMurry Inc., was was named the 2008 Ad Person of the Year by Ad 2 Phoenix. The award honors an individual in the local advertising community who contributes to the betterment of the advertising industry, is an active participant in community service, and is presently active in advertising, marketing or communications.

Gold award winners go on to compete in the regional AAF ADDY competition.
AAF Metro Phoenix, the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation, hosted an independent panel of judges from around the country who were responsible for reviewing and scoring all the entries. The judges score each entry independently, except on the Best of Show, Art Director and Copywriter of the Year, which are based on aggregate scores.
